Real Kenya The marine life at Watamu Marine National Park is teeming, with people sighting turtles, dolphins, 150 varieties of hard and soft corals, over 1500 varieties of fish, more than 100 species of birds, and whale sharks, manta rays, octopi and barracudas.
There is a turtle watch program which has managed to secure the main park’s beach as a 99% viable sea turtle nesting site for endangered sea turtles. This beach is patrolled and monitored vigorously and one can occasionally see the rare Olive Ridley Turtles. The Gedi Ruins are a part of this park.
